Ready for Pre-School??

On Thursday, August 14th, Vance's Mom(Nani) and I took the boys with us to "Kohl's". Brady kept finding toys that he wanted and sticking them in our cart. One of the things he really wanted was a lunchbox, and he found a Cars lunchbox that he stuck in the cart. Brady said that he needed it to go to pre-school. Nani decided to spoil Brady, and she told him that she would take him to "Big Lots" to get a lunchbox. Brady was fine with that, but he doesn't forget about things, so that afternoon Nani took him to "Big Lots". They came back with two lunchboxes. Thomas the Train lunchbox for Brady and Scooby Doo lunchbox for Logan. All week Brady has been talking about going to Pre-School, and I kept telling him that he will go to Pre-School when he turns 4. So, when Brady woke up Friday morning, he got dressed by himself, grabbed his backpack and lunchbox, and yelled up the stairs, "Mom, I'm ready to go to pre-school! I'm 4 now!" I just had to laugh! I guess I better find a place for Brady to go to Pre-School! Where do kids come up with these things?

Brown Bear

Logan and Brown Bear Book

Stacey brought over the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?" By: Eric Carle for

Logan. Logan just loved that book so much that he walked around the rest of the day saying,

"Bow Bear" (Brown Bear)! It is so fun to hear him saying words now! Some other words he

says are: more, wa wa (water), Grandpa, and ball, Mommy, and dada.

The Storm

When Vance brought me home from my surgery, our backyard was totally destroyed! Our Eucalyptus tree had fallen over onto our patio table, the grill had fallen over and broke some of the sprinklers, the patio was flooded from the storm and the broken sprinklers, and a couple of our patio chairs had been blown over. I coulddn't believe that our stakes broke that was holding up the tree. It was quite a site, but Vance has fixed the sprinklers, and cut back the tree so that it is not so heavy. That tree is standing now, and is looking good. I can't believe it survived!

The Disguise

I couldn't belive how I looked that I just had to remember this moment! I thought it looked like I put on one of those glasses, nose, and mustache disguises all in one. Mom dropped me off at 'The Las Vegas Surgery Center," and I had to fill out a ton of paperwork. I was a little nervous going in because I wasn't sure what to expect, but mom did give me a couple of ideas about what to expect. The surgery went well, but boy did I look funny! They packed my nose with two straws and guaze so that I could put saline up the straws to keep my nose moist. They told me that it took me 45 minutes to wake up, and that I was a little queasy during the surgery. I obviously didn't remember a thing, but it was very uncomfortable with the guaze and straws up my nose. Mom and dad took me to my appointment on Monday, and the doctor took the packing out of my nose. I look normal now, but it is still tender. The surgery was a success! I can breathe!!

The Twins

Since Vance cut their hair, everyone says they look like twins. I was just getting ready for my nasal surgery, and also packing a few things for the boys because they were going to be with mom and dad (Grandma and Grandpa Gibson) for two days. Mom was coming to pick us up, and I just had to take a picture of them in their "Future Presidents" shirts that Vance's mom (Nani) got for them in Washington D.C. I was rushing to get everything ready before I left that I forgot Logan's pacifier. I was pretty worried that mom and dad would not have a good time that I was trying to figure out a way to get mom the pacifier, but she called and said Logan was doing fine without it. Mom probably was just being nice to put up with Logan, but since then I decided to keep Logan off the pacifier! He's doing great without it! That's one way to ween him from the pacifier! Thanks mom for your help!

Surprise!

When I got home from the scrapaway weekend, I was surprised to see that Vance had cut both Brady and Logan's hair. It was Logan's first haircut, so Vance saved his hair and took pictures. I was just going to cut their hair this week, but Vance beat me to it! He is such a good husband, and I am thankful for him! Logan now is losing his baby face, and looks like a little boy!
