First Day of Kindergarten

Brady had a hard time going to sleep.  He kept getting up and coming out of his room!  I finally said, "Brady, it is time to go to sleep so that you can be ready for school tomorrow!"  Brady said, "I'm too excited to sleep!!"  He finally went to sleep, but he woke up at 6:00am, got dressed, brushed his teeth, made his bed, ate breakfast, and he was ready to go to school by 6:30am.  He said, "Mom, I'm ready to go to school!"  I told Brady that we didn't have to leave for 2 more hours.  He was a little disappointed, but he watched some shows until it was time to leave.  Brady wanted to ride the bus, but we live too close to the school, so we walked Brady to school.  He has morning Kindergarten, so he goes from 8:55-11:35.  His teachers name is Mrs. Spear.  He had so much fun on his first day of school.  He felt like such a Big Kid!

Shark Reef

Brady and Logan participated in a Summer Reading Program put on by the Henderson Libraries.  I read to them 30 minutes a day, and they earned prizes when they completed 300 minutes of reading.  There were 4 levels, and each level they earned a prize.  We went to the library once a week to check out books.  One prize was a ticket to go to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay.  This was our Back to School Outing.  We happened to go on the 10th Anniversary of when the Shark Reef opened.  The boys loved seeing all of the many sea creatures.  Brady loved touching the sting rays.  Logan was scared to touch them, so he just watched his older brother.  They had a fun time!

Reunions and More...

We went to the Primary Activity where Ben was giving a presentation on fire safety.  At the end, the kids got to run through the water.  Logan and Bree didn't want to run through the water, but they had fun anyway!
Then we went back to Becky's, had lunch, and went to the Skidmore Reunion.
SKIDMORE REUNION:  8/06/2010  and 8/07/2010
We camped in cabins at the Heber Valley Girls Camp.  The Church owns the whole camp site, and we stayed at Camp Rebekah.  That evening we participated in a Challenge Course.  They have many different challenge courses throughout the camp sites.  The challenge courses have many mind and faith building activities.  Our favorite was the big swing, and they had a sandbox that the kids loved.

The next morning we had breakfast, and rode paddle boats on the lake.  Clark didn't like the life jacket, but then he fell asleep, and was fine the whole ride.  Brady and Logan loved the boats.  After the boat ride, we went on a hike and then had lunch.  We ended the reunion in South Jordan, UT with swimming and a Barbeque.  It was fun to spend time with extended family!
 SUNDAY 8/08/2010
We went to church with Becky, Tessa, and Breann, and then we had dinner with Whitney and family.  Vance and his dad drove back to Las Vegas, NV so that they could work during the week.

Logan, Utah Monday, 8/09/2010 through Wednesday, 8/11/2010
We drove to Logan, Utah with Nani, and Stacey, Whitney, and kids were in the other car.  We stayed at Tutu and Papasan's (Vance's grandparents) house.  We had picnics, fed the ducks, played with other cousins, and went to parks.  Brady had fun playing with some older cousins, Sam and Ginnie Teuscher.  Then we drove back to Orem, Utah to stay with Becky and Ben.

Clark discovered this trip that he loves corn on the cob!  He just couldn't get enough of it!
Orem, Utah Thursday, 8/12/2010 and Friday, 8/13/2010
We helped Becky and Ben with some yard work, and then we went to the Orem City Pool to cool off.  The boys had fun hanging out with Tessa and Bree.  Vance and his dad flew into Salt Lake on Friday afternoon.  Chip picked them up at the airport, and we met them at chip and Whitney's house where we had dinner and swam at the South Jordan Pool.
WB Allen Reunion--Saturday, 8/14/2010
This Reunion was held at a park in Sandy, UT.  We had lunch, played games, and got to meet many of Vance's Mom's cousins and Aunt and Uncles that I have never met before. Then on Sunday, we drove home to Las Vegas, NV.  It was a fun couple of weeks!

Brady learned how to climb trees by Sam, Vance's cousins son.  This was the first tree he climbed, since we don't have climbing trees in Vegas.  He thought he was such a big boy, and that it was the best thing ever!

Funny Brady

Brady got this jester hat last Christmas, and he didn't like it at first.  Then he started playing Lego Batman on the Wii.  One of the characters in the game has a hat like this, and so he decided that it is a cool hat.  He wore it around the house all the time, and he wanted to show everyone his cool hat.  He is such a funny kid.  What a funny stage!
