Visit with the Dixon's

It was fun to see the Dixon's!  They were on their way back to Texas!  We took them to a cool splash park, played games, and just hung out.  Eve and Anna spent the night at our house, and the boys loved hanging out with them.

Cousins Camp

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

Everyone arrived today minus Drew (Colton was sleeping when the photo was taken)!  It was good to see Riley for a little bit before he had to go back home.  My boys were so excited to see their cousins.

Wednesday, July 11, 2012--Cousins Camp Begins--DAY #1
A lot of work went into this cousins camp, but it was worth it because the kids had fun and there seemed to be less tantrums.  Thanks to all my sisters and my mom for all the work.  The kids were split up into four groups:  Group #1--Preston, Wyatt, Eve, Brenna, and Brady;  Group #2--Anna, Tessa, Gavin, and Bryant; Group #3--Logan, Aaron, Bree, and Sadie;  Group #4--Ellie, Clark, and Bryce.  Grandma made everyone a book with things that they learned about, and they also had a spot to write a journal entry for each day.  Today the two older 2 groups went bowling with Grandpa and Aunt Becky in the morning and the younger 2 groups played games at the church.  Kristi-Lynn and I were in charge of the younger groups.  Then we had centers which included Baking, craft, learning about table manners, and also learning about our ancestors.  Then we had a water fight in the backyard.  That night we watched a home movie that Grandma put together.  During the day, the kids were able to earn beads for participation and good behavior.  In the midst of all this structured activity, the kids were able to have free time.  I love it when we all work together!  It was a fun filled day!

Thursday, July 12, 2012--DAY #2
Today we did our centers in the morning.  The centers included a game, craft (Fun Fusion), learning about our ancestors, and learning our day to day manners.  Then after lunch, we went to the Hollywood Recreation Center Activity Pool.  It was a fun time!

Friday, July 13, 2012
The Fun Fusion was a BIG HIT!  The kids wanted to do more fun fusion projects before they headed home!  Everyone left today!  The boys had so much fun with everyone!

Trip to Utah

Friday, June 29, 2012
We drove to the Dawson's house today.  We drove passed all the Utah Wildfires.  Stacey came with us, and it was a good thing because she was a great help to me with the kids.  Clark got car sick a few times on the trip, so we made more stops than usual.  It took us a lot longer to get there.
We finally made it to the Dawson's home around 11pm.  The kids were tired!

Saturday, June 30, 2012--Abby's Birthday Party

Happy 5th Birthday, Abby!  She had a Tangled Party!  The kids braided dough, made lanterns, colored the sun with sidewalk chalk, colored Flynn wanted posters, and played some games (tag, hide n' seek, and use Pascal to blow off the marshmallow.  Abby's favorite present was her new bike.  She had a yummy Tangled cake.  It was a fun party!  We were all tired out by the end!

Sunday, July 1, 2012

We went to church with the Dawson's.  They live so close to their church building that we were able to walk to church.  It was a good meeting.  Then that evening, we hung out waiting for Burke, Germania, and Grandpa to arrive.  Brady and Logan loved taking turns on Abby's new bike.  She was so nice to share!

Monday, July 2, 2012--The Skidmore Reunion

We drove up to Heber Valley Camp in Heber City, UT, and we had to hurry to get to the Challenge Course.  They have many different challenge courses, but this one was specifically designed for Families.  The little ones were able to participate.  The big swing was a BIG hit!  We have been to this camp before, but it is such a fun place.  Clark was 6 months old the last time we came.  He was able to do a lot more things this time.  After the Challenge course, we came back to the camp to unpack and prepare dinner.  That evening we had a program.  The theme was "Families are Forever".  We are so lucky to be apart of a big family that loves to get together.

Tuesday, July 3, 2012

After breakfast, we packed a lunch and went on a hike.  The kids were starting to complain, so we set out to find our trail.  We were looking for Reeder Trail.  We took a wrong turn, so we ended up going the long way to Reeder Trail.  By that time Clark was past the point of being tired, so Vance took Brady and Logan the rest of the way on the hike, and I went back to the camp with Clark.  I ended up carrying Clark down the trail because he fell asleep.  That evening we went on paddle boats on the Lake.  Brady thought he was such a big kid going in the canoe with Stacey and Grandpa.  Then we came back to camp, ate dinner, and had a 4th of July program.  The kids made bracelets, and we all marched around the camp with flags.  The kids loved playing Hide N' Seek with Germania.  We had a fun time!

Wednesday, July 4, 2012
Today we cleaned the camp, packed, and headed back to Whitney's house.  We stopped in Heber City, UT at Granny's Drive in for a milk shake.  Then we went to Whitney's house.

Logan fell asleep before the fireworks began.  I guess it was a long day for him!

 Pop Snappers
 Sparkler's

Poor Clark burned his hand on the sparkler!  Hard lesson to learn!  We kept the burn in water the rest of the night!

We went to Chip's parents house for a barbecue and fireworks show.  We did our own firework show, but their neighbors all around were shooting off the big ones, so we got to see those too!

Thursday, July 5, 2012

Today it rained all day!  We went to the Kennecott Copper Mine.  The boys loved seeing all the BIG Trucks!

Friday, July 6, 2012

On our way up to Logan, UT, we stopped at the Hill Aerospace Museum.  There was so many hands on things for the kids.  They loved it!  Brady especially like making a rocket and then launching it!  Logan chose not to make a rocket, but then when Brady got to launch his, he was sad that he didn't make a rocket!  The Boys loved all the Big Planes.  We even got to talk to a man that flew one of the planes.

The Allen Reunion--Logan, UT

We met at the church for dinner and activity.  Each family had to make flags to represent their family.  The kids could make their own if they wanted.  Then we had a representative from each family tell about their family flag.  We had yummy cake for dessert.

Saturday, July 7, 2012

We stayed in a hotel that provided a complimentary breakfast.  After breakfast, we went to Willard Park Zoo.  Then we had lunch, and met everyone for more reunion activities.  They had a Bounce House with Slide that the kids loved.  We also played volleyball, hit the pinata, and blew bubbles.  Then we had dinner.  They ordered Panda Express.  It was fun to visit with everyone!  That night we went swimming in the pool in the hotel.  The water was colder than we are used to, so we were in the spa mostly.

Sunday, July 8, 2012

We went to 9am Sacrament Meeting, and then headed back to Las Vegas.  It was a great trip!  The trip back seemed to go faster!
