Friends

My friend, Pam, invited us over to their house for some summer fun activities.  They used to live across the street from us, and they were such good neighbors.  We have kept in touch and have remained good friends.  I have baby-sat her kids in the past, and the boys love to play together.  We had a fun time visiting, while the boys played with the ball sprinkler.

Garden Club

I signed the boys up for Garden Club.  Star Nursery offers a Garden Club to kids for free during the summer.  Today the boys made Sundials.  They learned how to tell time by the sun.  They had fun painting them.  After they were finished painting, we saw the turtles that they have there.  The boys loving seeing the turtles!

After Garden Club, we went to Home Depot for the kids workshop.  The kids made bulletin boards.  They had to put it together with nails, and then they painted the frame and put their name on it.  When they were done, they had punch and cookies for a refreshment.  The boys had fun making the bulletin boards.

Tonight we went to the Henderson Activity Pool.  Vance's parents' Ward had an activity there, and they invited us.  I didn't get any pictures, but the boys had so much fun.  Brady's favorite thing was the diving boards.  He even had the guts to jump off the high dive!

Olympics

My friend, Jen, organized these Olympics for the kids.  The events today were Cycling, Running, Discus, Javelin, Swimming(big splash), and Diving(little splash).  Brady did not want to participate in the cycling because he is embarrassed that he cannot ride a bike without training wheels yet.  Logan did not want to participate in running because he says running makes his legs hurt.  They are just particular about some things, but overall they had fun.  The boys have really gotten into watching the Olympics this summer, and they were excited to participate in their own Olympics.  They also made their own flags, painted Olympic Rings, had an award ceremony, and had a special treat at the end.  It was a fun day!

 Discus:  Jarrett-Gold; Brady-Silver; and Logan-Bronze
 Diving(Little Splash):  Tait-Gold; Grace-Silver; Logan-Bronze
 Swimming(Big Splash):  Rollie-Gold; Jake-Silver; Clark-Bronze
 Running:  Jocelyn-Gold; Brayden-Silver; Clark-Bronze

Visit with the Dixon's

It was fun to see the Dixon's!  They were on their way back to Texas!  We took them to a cool splash park, played games, and just hung out.  Eve and Anna spent the night at our house, and the boys loved hanging out with them.

Cousins Camp

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

Everyone arrived today minus Drew (Colton was sleeping when the photo was taken)!  It was good to see Riley for a little bit before he had to go back home.  My boys were so excited to see their cousins.

Wednesday, July 11, 2012--Cousins Camp Begins--DAY #1
A lot of work went into this cousins camp, but it was worth it because the kids had fun and there seemed to be less tantrums.  Thanks to all my sisters and my mom for all the work.  The kids were split up into four groups:  Group #1--Preston, Wyatt, Eve, Brenna, and Brady;  Group #2--Anna, Tessa, Gavin, and Bryant; Group #3--Logan, Aaron, Bree, and Sadie;  Group #4--Ellie, Clark, and Bryce.  Grandma made everyone a book with things that they learned about, and they also had a spot to write a journal entry for each day.  Today the two older 2 groups went bowling with Grandpa and Aunt Becky in the morning and the younger 2 groups played games at the church.  Kristi-Lynn and I were in charge of the younger groups.  Then we had centers which included Baking, craft, learning about table manners, and also learning about our ancestors.  Then we had a water fight in the backyard.  That night we watched a home movie that Grandma put together.  During the day, the kids were able to earn beads for participation and good behavior.  In the midst of all this structured activity, the kids were able to have free time.  I love it when we all work together!  It was a fun filled day!

Thursday, July 12, 2012--DAY #2
Today we did our centers in the morning.  The centers included a game, craft (Fun Fusion), learning about our ancestors, and learning our day to day manners.  Then after lunch, we went to the Hollywood Recreation Center Activity Pool.  It was a fun time!

The Fun Fusion was a BIG HIT!  The kids wanted to do more fun fusion projects before they headed home!  Everyone left today!  The boys had so much fun with everyone!
