More Soccer Saturdays

Game #3   9/22/2012
Brady's team played Galaxy, and they won.  Logan's team played the Knights.  They are both doing well and having fun.  I didn't take any pictures at these games.  I haven't been very good at taking pictures.  If Vance doesn't remember than it doesn't happen because I am too focused  on making sure I know where my kids are.  It is hard for them to sit still!

Game #4     9/29/2012
Avengers vs. Firebirds

Logan does well when he wants to.  Sometimes he is totally unfocused and does not pay attention to the ball.

Brady's team played Fury, and they lost 6-7.  This team was the most competition they have had, and their first loss.  We did not get any pictures of Brady because we were so into watching the game.  They had lots of chances for goals, but they weren't going in.  It was disappointing, but Brady had fun anyway.

Game #5    10/6/2012
Sidekicks vs. Lions

Today Brady and Logan's games were at the same time.  We watched the morning session of conference, then I took Logan to his game and Vance took Brady to his game.  That's why I didn't get any pictures of Logan's game.  Brady's team won, and Vance said that Brady did very well.  Logan's team won their game, and Logan did well also.  It was fun to watch when he actually plays.  Then we made it home for the second session of conference.  I was sad to miss Brady's game, but I loved that the times cooperated so that we could watch both sessions of conference.  I loved the morning session where they announced the Tucson temple and that there will be younger missionaries.  I loved listening to all of the talks.  I had Brady and Logan work on some sheets that helped them pay attention better.  They had to color the prophet and apostles ties as they spoke, and Brady had to take some notes on what he heard them say.  This was good practice for him.  Then we went swimming in Vance's parents pool probably for the last time this year.  The weather is still really nice!  It's CRAZY that we could swim in October!  Only in Vegas!  Then Vance went to the Priesthood Session.  It was a busy day, but we loved every minute of it!

Game #6   10/13/2012

Again I forgot the camera!  Logan's game was at 2:15 pm, and they played  the Outlaws.  They won--no thanks to Logan!  He had a hard time paying attention, and getting into the game.  Grandma and Grandpa Gibson came to the game.  It was good to see them!  Vance and Brady went to the UNLV Football game.  They had fun, but it was a disappointing loss for UNLV.  Brady's game was at 5:45 pm.  They played the Tigers, and they won!  Stacey made it to Brady's game.  It was a fun, but busy day!

Logan Can Ride a Bike

It was a rainy day all day, but when I picked Brady up from school, the rain had stopped.  Since the rain had stopped, the boys wanted to ride scooters and bikes.  Brady immediately chooses his scooter and Logan chose his bike.  I was just talking with Angie this week about how to teach my children to ride a bike without training wheels because I have been wanting Brady to learn how to ride a bike.  I told Brady that I was not going to buy him a bigger bike until he learns how to ride it without training wheels.  Brady just doesn't have the patience to learn.  Clark was having fun on his scooter.

I was watching Logan ride his bike, and because his training wheels are so bent, he was riding his bike without using the training wheels.  I told him that he should try the other bike.

So he did!  It only took me a couple of times to start him, and he was doing it all by himself!  I couldn't believe  that all it took was Logan loving to Ride His Bike that got him to do it on his own.  He still loves the other bike better, but he doesn't use the training wheels at all.  I am just going to have to take the training wheels off when he's at school someday!

Notice Brady in the background watching his younger brother do what he can't do yet.  He even told me that he wants to learn to ride his bike so that he can be like Logan.  I can't believe how well Logan is doing on his bike.  Now we just need to work on his steering!

Vance's Birthday

Sunday, September 30, 2012-- Vance's mom made Vance's Birthday dinner today.  We had Pork chops, potatoes, salad, vegetables, fruit, and the cheesecake for dessert.  The boys decorated the cheesecake.  We celebrated his birthday with the family.  Nani and Grandpa Skidmore, Stacey, Kiley, Burke, and Germania were all there to celebrate with us.

Thursday, October 4, 2012--Today was his actual birthday, and he turned 35 years old.  The boys and I made him eggs and toast for breakfast, and brought the breakfast along with his presents to him in bed.  He got the game "Bop It" and some new jeans.  The boys were excited to bring him his presents.  I didn't take any pictures today, but his birthday was well celebrated.
I asked Vance's mom to watch the boys while we celebrated tonight.  Vance chose to go to TGI Fridays for dinner, and then we went bowling.  We have not been bowling for a very long time, and it showed.  We definitely need more practice, but we had fun anyway.

Friday, October 5, 2012--Today I made him a yummy pudding cake with almonds sprinkled on top.  I made him Hawaiian Haystacks for dinner.  We celebrated today with the boys.  Clark liked helping Vance blow out the candles.

Award Ceremony

Brady was picked by his teacher to earn the Roadrunner Recognition Award this month.  The teachers pick students with good behavior and that are showing that they have skills for success.  This was the first month that he could get this award, and I am proud of Brady's dedication and hard work that he has shown in school this year.  Way to go Brady!  Keep up the good work!

Tired Boy!!

Clark thinks that he doesn't need naps anymore, but he gets tired and cranky around 4 or 5.  Today he was fighting me on taking a nap because he had a friend over.  I watch a little boy on Tuesdays, and Clark was having fun playing with him.  When the little boy left, Clark was starting to act tired.  I told him to go to his room, and this was as far as he got!  He definitely still needs naps, and I am not ready for him to give up his naps either!

Soccer Games #2

Logan's game was bright and early in the morning, but he had a great game.  Grandma and Grandpa Gibson were able to come!  It was fun to see them!

Brady's game was not until 5:45pm.  They also had a great game!  Grandma and Grandpa also made it to Brady's game.  Brady was hustling really good in his game.  He did great!

First Soccer Games

Logan had a great opening day!  He has a great team.  They are the Avengers again, but at least they are not purple again.

Brady had a fun game!  When they showed up to play, they discovered that they were playing a team that was the same color so they had to where bright orange pennies.  Brady team is the Sidekicks, and they did great!
